16 Aug Elder Care vs. Child Care
We’re sure, like us, you have heard people compare child care to elder care over the years. They will discuss similarities like finding joy or amusement in things, their concept of time or the need for regular naps.
In our professional and experienced opinion, the main and only similarity we focus on is that you, the person providing the care, will always have that individual on your mind. Whether this is your 90-year-old Mother or your 2-year-old child, they will be consuming your thoughts. You will need to bear in mind their medication, foods they can eat, the temperature of the room and if they are comfortable at all times. You must continue to remind yourself to be gentle when assisting them with tasks to ensure they do not get hurt and are always thinking about their welfare.
Sadly, this can be an overwhelming experience which is why we offer services for both age groups. Our aim as an organisation is to give you the confidence to go about your day and hopefully take away some of the mental load. This means you can be present in a situation instead of letting the never-ending checklist consume you.
We look at all our clients on an individual basis and tailor their plans/activities/visits on their personalities, age and requirements. We do not have a one shoe fits all approach, and can help support you whether you’re looking for companionship or home help for your older family member, or babysitting for your children.
